I am usually looking for more affordable alternatives to Bose’s very regarded but expensive Quiet Comfort noise-canceling headphones, which is why Creative’s new HN-900 headphones caught my eye.

In the previous, Creative’s noise-canceling headphones have been fairly decent, and the good factor about this one particular is that in contrast to the Bose and numerous other noise-canceling models, the HN-900 has an integrated microphone for producing cell phone calls. A single AAA battery gives you about 40 hrs of active noise-cancellation.

At the same time Imaginative released the HN-900s, it also announced the impending arrival of a higher-finish model noise-canceling model, the $ 199.99 Aurvana X-Fi two, which adds virtual surround technology.

“The Creative X-Fi CMSS-3D practically transforms stereo headphone playback into the much more immersive listening encounter of a surround-sound speaker system,” Inventive says. And you can “independently select noise cancellation, X-Fi Crystalizer, X-Fi CMSS-3D, and volume with handy controls on the headphones.” A single AAA battery gives you 9 hrs of battery existence if you activate all that engineering at the moment.

Really worth noting: the higher-finish Aurvana delivers much better noise-cancellation (20dB vs. 18dB) but doesn’t feature the integrated microphone.

We’ll allow you know how each models perform when we get our hands on critique samples.
